Ties

A tie is the single highest-leverage item in menswear: for less than the price of a restaurant dinner it can reset the entire register of a suit you already own. Navy tailoring turns wedding-ready with a sage or dusty-pink silk; the same suit turns boardroom with a burgundy grenadine; add a black knitted silk and you have evening cool without a dinner jacket. Our ties are chosen for texture as much as colour: knits, grenadines and wool blends that catch light softly rather than shining like plastic. Widths sit in the classic 7 to 8cm band that flatters most lapels. If you are building from nothing, start with navy knitted silk and burgundy grenadine. Between them they answer nearly every invitation.
